Professor of the London Academy of Science and Business Oleksandr Melnychenko delivered a lecture on “Tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic. The experience of individual EU countries and the role of the state in overcoming challenges”
On November 24, 2022 Professor of the London Academy of Science and Business (London, Great Britain), Professor of Gdansk University of Technology (Gdansk, Poland), Chairman of the Board of Consilium Sp. z o. o. (Warsaw, Poland) Oleksandr Melnychenko delivered a guest lecture on “Tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic. The experience of individual EU countries and the role of the state in overcoming challenges” for the 4-year students majoring in 241 Hotel and restaurant business. The lecture was delivered as a part of the study discipline "Accounting and auditing of enterprises of the hotel and restaurant business".
During the lecture, Professor Oleksandr Melnychenko conducted a detailed analysis of the formation of Poland's state budget, the impact of COVID-19 on the development of the economy, in particular, the country's hospitality sector.
Professor Oleksandr Melnychenko outlined the impact of the pandemic on the activities of hospitality establishments, as well as the specifics of satisfying the delayed demand for hotel services in the resorts of Italy, France, Austria and Spain. Special attention was paid to the management's response to the expediency of making adjustments to the organization of management accounting, as well as the expediency of strengthening control over performance indicators of hotel and restaurant business enterprises in EU countries.
At the end of the lecture, a lively discussion devoted to finding mechanisms and tools for the revival of the domestic hospitality industry in the post-war period based on the experience of the EU countries, took place.

Professor Oleksandr Melnychenko expressed his admiration for the students of NUBiP of Ukraine, who persistently strive to learn, strive to acquire professional knowledge and practical skills, which in the near future, in the post-war period, will be more useful than ever, because the field of hospitality should be the first to create all the necessary conditions for the much-needed recreation of our compatriots after defeating the insidious enemy.
